Life goes by too fast

It has been a while since I updated this blog, and looking back so must has happened and changed with us as a family. In retrospect, it is hard to believe that  we now have 4 beautiful children. God has blessed us with Beautiful daughters (Maggie and Millie) Handsome son’s (Ephraim and Ezra).  Maggie is not 6 soon to be 7 Millie is 5 Ephraim is 3 and Ezra is one. It is a great blessing to look back and see where the Almighty God has brought us so far.

Having been at Briercrest for the past 4 and a half years, finally ny degree is coming to an end and we are quite excited as a family. it has had its moments of Challenges but God has seen us through it all. Thanks to the great support from my lovely wife and Children. We had planned to move to Ontario this past summer, and we were all excited to move back close to family, but A job opportunity presented itself that was hard to pass. I got offered a job for the summers to do electrical work and an opportunity to apprentice if I wanted to. since Jobs are hard to come by and we did not have a job lined up in Ontario we saw it wise to take the job and it has been a great experience to work with a mazing christian brothers. I am a fe months into it now and there are day that I wonder if this is what God wants of me right now. I like the work and the people I work with, but still deep within there is the feeling of un accomplishment and purpose. I feel like I know that the Lord has called me to do, and therefore I often wonder if taking this job was a gut reaction to make money or this is actually where the Lord himself want me to be for a while ( I continue to seek to hear from God on this issue). I am learning a lot in electrical and appreciating the patience of the guys I work with. often am frustrated because I feel like I am not getting anything. its my prayer that I catch on quick and continue to learn more and fast.

Well this will do it for tonight. Tomorrow is halloween and excited to take the children tricker treating. I am reminded tonight again of Gods love for us and his demand for us to love each other.

The Pray Park Grand Opening.

This past weekend was a memorable weeked for our family. The village of Caronport has for years desired to have a water spray park for its residents. After many years pf dreaming and hoping, the reality finally came to surface this year. After an aprroval by the board and generous donation and contribution from the village members and other local companies, the spray park was built and was officially opened on saturday June 16th 2012.

What Makes this day memorable for my family is that fact that the community members drew names of different kids who were randomly picked to be the first one to start the water. When the name was picked and called out, our daughter Millie (4) was the chosen one. This little girl had been talking about the spray park since the day she had that once was being built in early February. It was a dream come true for her. Not only to see the park complete and open, but to go down in history of the village of Caronport as the first kid to turn the water on.

We are greatful to the Lord to be apart of this community, and to see our children continue to grow and be influence by other great families around, as we make this place our home over the next few years.Image

Prayer Changes everything.

It is one thing to speak about prayers and another thing to pray. Over the past 11 days, My friend Dan Jensen and I decided to devote the next 21 days to pray, asking God for a direction for our church, Community, families and for us as individuals. We have seen the power of Prayer in the past few days in remarkable ways. God truly seek men and Women who will Worship him in truth and in Spirit, and this is not just something for some, but this is the very invitation that we all have as believers to come before God everyday. Despite the feelings of guilt and of shame that the the Devil weighs us down with, we can be assured that We can now approach his throne of grace with boldness and confidence to approach his throne of grace to attain grace and Mercy to help us in time of need.

It is very reawarding and very refreshing to come together every night and seek the Lord. What has been encouraging is to see the many other people that have been able to free time and join us for prayers, and we hope to continue to extend the invitation to many people, and call upon the Lord together, with the desire tos see him work and chage lives in our community. Life cannot be live in Isolation but as acommunity and this one of those major things that the Lord keep prompting in our hearts to pray for, and it is remarkable the ways we are seeing this take shape. As much as this is ap ractice we are doing for the next 21 days, I believe after 21 days we will not be fininshing but just getting our feet wet and kicking it ot higher gears.

Let us cultivate the desire and the practice to prayerImage. The Lord’s Years are open to the prayers of the righteous.

When Life Changes.

It has continued to be a great opportunity to see our children grow and change everyday. Quite often you heasre people say that Children grow fast but we take it for granted. The truth is; they do. within the next 3-4 week, life is going to change again for us. as some of you may know, We have 2 girls (Maggie and Millie) and a son (Ephraim), My beautiful wife is soon due for our forth child (and yes it is a Boy). am sure it is going to be a challenge but in many ways that I have witnessed the Lord provide for me and my family, I have no doubts that he is going to provide for us. I am proud to be a father of two adorable daughter and soon to be a father of two sons as well. It is true that trully “Children are a blessing from the Lord, and blessed is the man who quiver is full of them.” It is also a great hope that this will be the last one ( aha we have taken parmanent Measures). Keep your eyes and ears proped for the updates.

Its not good for a man 5o be alone.

image

As most of you know my mother in law suffered a stroke and was admitted at St Joseph’s hospital in Hamilton Ontario. So we had to make a few changes to our travel plans. Nancy and the girls and Ephraim left for Ontario on Wednesday last week while I stayed being to finish up school work. I Must confess that it is true that it is not good for a man to be alone. In as much as I thought that I would enjoy not being bothered and have a Quiet week, I fooled myself. The days were long and uneventful and the nights were lonely and long. There was nobody to welcome me home or call me baby or honey welcome. These past seven days have felt so long even though I spoke with my family every morning and evening, it never felt comforting. Maybe it is because this is the first time my wife and my kids have ever been away from me or I just didn’t know how to have fun in their absence. With all that said, am sitting here in grammar curts house waiting to go to bed to reunite with my family and fly out to Kenya. Am looking forward to see my kids and my lovely wife and eventually looking forward to our time in Kenya with he extended family. Keep us in your prayers and  keep an eye on our upcoming journals while we are in Kenya.

From Dream to Reality

Seems like it has been a while since the last time I gave an update of what has been going on with us. Well so much has happened in the last number of months. The last time I wrote I we were anticipating of going home to Kenya to see my Parents since it has been a while since the last time we were home. Well that plan has changed from being a dream in the future to a reality in the horizon. After many months of prayers and asking God to provide for us cheap flights, We were able to land on a one night seat sale for all the 5, and we were also blessed to have seat sales for the flights to Toronto from Regina. Which means that we are leaving on the 24th of Novembers which is in 23 days. With this in place, it means I have to get all my school work done in 22 days. God has been faithful to us and we continues to experience his grace and faithfulness.

We are excited to to be spending the first week of our visit in Kenya with The Chalmers and and the Davidson’s in Mombasa. The kids are looking forward to spending time with Elijah, gracie, Ian, Brookie and Rozie. And of course Nancy and I are super excited to have sometime with Jon and Amy and with Sean and Mandy. Then after the week in Mombasa we will be heading to Nairobi and then Catch a flight to Kisumuu to see the My parents. This trip will be full of excitement because we will also get time together with Rob and Dan who left today for Kenya as well. We have so much to do while we are in the village, Meeting with the pastors and potentially planning a trip in 2013 and we might be building a house as well. All we surrender to the Lord, and a wait to see the good this that will come out of this trip. We continue to seek Prayers in every way and thank you to all that5 have been praying for us, Our house church and our Church at the gathering has been of great support. Blessings to all and keep your eye on the upcoming updates.
